Bush campaign pulls ads from Washington State
Kerry's state campaign director, Sam Rodriguez, said Bush's campaign ad buy has dwindled to a trickle, signifying that the White House is quietly withdrawing from all-out competition for the state's 11 electoral votes.
"The Bush operation here is hemorrhaging," he said.
And not just Bush's campaign will have less of a presence on TV here:
"I think this, and the apparent pulling of ads by the national Republicans for (Senate challenger) George Nethercutt shows the Republican bigwigs in Washington, D.C., have decided this state is a waste of their time," state Democratic Chairman Paul Berendt said in an interview.
This is the same George Nethercutt which is running ads showing Senator Patty Murray talking about why Osama bin Ladin is admired in the Arab world. Naturally, Senator Murray's comments are taken way out of context--she's merely providing background, not saying Osama is a good guy. It would be a threatening ad except that Nethercut has practically no chance of winning.
This is giving me all sorts of warm fuzzies.
